2025 KSEAUK Outstanding Research Awards
2025 KSEAUK Outstanding Research Awards We are pleased to announce that the call for nominations for the 2025 KSEAUK Outstanding Research Awards is now open. These prestigious awards recognise exceptional contributions to science and technology by Future Leaders (FLs). The 2025 KSEAUK Outstanding Research Awards offer certificates to maximum two recipients in each category and cash prizes of £500 for JFLs, £800 for RFLs, and £1,000 for AFLs. The KSEAUK Outstanding Research Awards recognise three distinct categories of members who have established a distinguished record of research, scholarship, or creative activities throughout their research careers. The three award categories are: Junior Future Leaders (JFLs) Award: Open to PhD students and industrial researchers with Masters (e.g. MSc, MRes, etc) degree up to 3 years after MSc graduation. Rising Future Leaders (RFLs) Award: Up to 5 years of research experience since their PhD graduation by the submission deadline, hold a permanent/non-permanent post (including proleptic or rolling contract of employment) in a UK university, not-for-profit research organisation or industry. Advanced Future Leaders (AFLs) Award: Up to 12 years of research experience since their PhD graduation by the submission deadline, hold a permanent/non-permanent post (including proleptic or rolling contract of employment) in a university (e.g. equivalent to a UK lecturer), not for profit research organisation or industry (e.g. Process Engineer) in science and engineering. Who can apply Ethnic Korean scientists or engineers. Affiliated or employed at research universities/institutions or industrial/government labs in the UK. Members of the Korean Scientists and Engineers Association in the UK (KSEAUK). How to apply Nominations must include the following materials to be considered for the award. All application documents, except for supporting letter(s), must be submitted electronically in a single PDF file to the KSEAUK secretary at secretary@kseauk.org by 11.59 pm UK time on 30 June 2025 (BST). Supporting letter(s) should be submitted to KSEAUK secretary via secretary@kseauk.org by 11.59 pm UK time on 15 July 2025 (BST).
How to select Maximum of two awardees per category will be selected by the KSEAUK Award Evaluation Committee. The recipients will be selected based on their scientific excellence in the dedicated field and potential to become a leader in their research area. The selection criteria include the quality of rationale in the nomination letter and the impact of the early career scholarship. The recipients will be announced on the KSEAUK web page https://www.kseauk.org/ and via email by 30 August 2025.
Award ceremony* The KSEAUK Outstanding Researcher Award ceremony for 2025 will be held during the Annual KSEAUK Conference event on the 25th of October 2025. Attendance at the award ceremony is mandatory for awardees or the award can be cancelled.
